In Memory of Joy Kernicky

Dream Big Honduras founders, Bethany and Brad Wentz, embarked on a foster to adoption journey at the very same time that they were starting Dream Big Honduras. This resulted in the adoption of siblings Levi, Elijah, and Naomi. A few years later, Bethany and Brad welcomed 3 biological children. In March of 2021, the birth mother of Levi, Elijah and Naomi suddenly passed away. Her name was Megan Joy Kernicky and she inspired The Joy Project.

The children of Megan Joy received many acts of kindness over the years. Sometimes these acts were life saving and life changing - thus, bringing joy and hope in some of the darkest times. 

​

Levi, Elijah and Naomi have set a goal to continue to spread joy locally, just as we do in Honduras, in memory of their birth mother. All projects planned and all donations received will focus around the DBH mission to meet the basic needs, aid in crisis relief, health, education and faith development.
